Bonanza Gold Grades of +1 Oz/t at Aucu Deposit

07 December 2015

White Cliff Minerals Limited (ASX: WCN) current drilling program has delivered +1 Ounce gold intersections over several metres in multiple locations.

  • Continued +1 Oz/t gold grades delivered in the Upper Gold Zone:
    • 8 metres at 55.2 g/t gold from 76 metres including 1 metre at 89.9 g/t gold
  • 2015 drill program has produced four drill holes with +1 Oz/t gold outcomes
    • Results for another 8 drill holes still to come
  • High grade Upper Gold Zone now extends over 1,300 metres along strike
    • Remains open in both directions and at depth
  • Previous 2015 Upper Gold Zone results include:
    • 4 metres at 59.9 g/t gold from 66 metres, including 1 metre at 189 g/t gold
    • 2 metres at 43.5 g/t gold from 86 metres
    • 1 metre at 103.4 g/t gold from 74 metres
    • 3 metres at 44.2 g/t gold from 53 metres, including 1 metre at 82 g/t gold
    • 4 metres at 23.8 g/t gold from 85 metres
    • 2 metres at 22 g/t gold from 102 metres
    • 1 metre at 64 g/t gold at 45 metres
  • Upper Gold Zone outcrops at surface and contains abundant visible gold

Drill-hole UGZ15-35, targeting extensions of the high grade Upper Gold Zone (UGZ) intersected 8 metres at 55.2 g/t gold, extending the UGZ a further 300 metres along strike from drill hole UGZ15-33. Drill hole UGZ15-33 intersected 4 metres at 59.9 g/t gold including 1 metre at 189 g/t gold; an additional 2 metres at 43.5 g/t gold; and 1 metre at 103.4 g/t gold (Figures 1-3) (Refer ASX announcement of 1 December 2015).

These latest intersections extend the UGZ a further 400 metres along strike to the east. High grade gold mineralisation has now been confirmed over 1,300 metres of strike.

Managing Director Todd Hibberd commented that, “The gold grades are exceptional. High grade gold results greater than one ounce per tonne (31 g/t) have been identified in multiple locations along the 1,300 metres of strike of the Upper Gold Zone. The UGZ remains open at depth and along strike. High grade mineralisation starts at surface and in addition to being identified in these outstanding drill results, has been identified repeatedly in trench and bull dozer cuts. With results like these we are confident that the 2016 drill program will produce a significant resource upgrade.”

A portion of the 2016 drill program will comprise in-fill resource definition holes aimed to grow the Company’s defined resource well towards the Company’s existing medium term Exploration Target of between approximately 15 to 20 million tonnes grading between 4-5 g/t being approximately 2 to 3 million ounces (Refer ASX announcement of 1 September 2015). The results from White Cliff’s 2015 drilling campaign provide confidence in the Company’s Exploration Target.

Results were also received for drill hole UGZ15-34 which was not drilled deep enough to intersect the main gold lode. The hole intersected minor low grade mineralisation. This hole will be redrilled with a diamond tail to test the main target during the 2016 drilling program.
